P&C CONSTITUTION

P&C Constitution

The purpose of the Constitution is to provide more detail and clarity on the operation of the Association.

​

Section 117 of the Education Act 1990 requires that the (model) prescribed constitution for Parents and Citizens' associations incorporated under the Federation of Parents and Citizens' Associations of New South Wales Incorporation Act 1976, be published by the Minister in the Education Gazette 1 of 2020.

​

The Constitution is to be read in conjunction with the P&C Rules and By-laws

​

The Constitution includes important information about the P&Cs:

  • objects and functions

  • membership 

  • office bearers

  • sub-committees

  • casual vacancies

  • annual general meeting

  • general meeting

  • special meetings

  • holding meetings and quorums

  • liability

  • subscriptions

  • dissolution

  • rule-making power

  • financial accounts
