Sustainability is a key focus of our Environment Committee. Through ad hoc and weekly initiatives and reminders about the importance of positive considerate actions, we encourage the whole school community to take steps to improve their school and larger environment.
Our Programs & Initiatives
The Environment Committee supports the Manly West School’s War on Waste program through:
- Sustainable events, a focus of all P&C events since 2019
- Labelling Days
- Kitchen Garden composting
- ‘Polly the Penguin’ – a Return & Earn partnering initiative with the canteen
- ReCollect – a Return & Earn initiative for families
- Waste-free Wednesdays
- Pen, marker and glue stick recycling
- Supporting the Green Team which is made up of student representatives
