What is Waste-Free Wednesday?

Waste-free Wednesdays is a school wide War on Waste initiative that was rolled out in 2021. Led by the P&C Environment Committee, with support from the school, the Student Representative Council (SRC) and student volunteer Waste Warriors, Waste-Free Wednesday is a positive weekly challenge for all students and their families.

Every Wednesday during school term, students are encouraged to come to school with a waste free lunch box – no extra packaging or anything that would need to be disposed of in the red bin once finished. Red bins aren’t available on the school grounds that day, but recycling and composting is available and encouraged.

Below is inspiration to help your child get their lunch box Waste-free Wednesday ready!
