BASC Treasurer
Role description:
The BASC Treasurer is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the Before and After School Committee program within the P&C.
Time required:
- 1 – 2 hours per week
- Additional hours when preparing for audit, budget or P&C meetings
- Plus attendance at all P&C Meetings (Finance, Executive, AGM + General Meetings)
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Monitors all incoming and outgoing funds related to the BASC program, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Budgeting: Works closely with the Finance Convenor and Treasurer and other executives to develop and manage the BASC program’s budget.
- Financial Reporting: Oversees financial reports for presentation to the P&C committee and general meetings, ensuring transparency in the program’s finances.
- Auditing: Ensures the BASC program’s financial records are accurate and assists with the annual audit to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Banking: Oversees the BASC bank accounts, payments and receipts, and ensures that all transactions are properly documented.
Finance Convenor
Role description:
A specialised position, the Finance Convenor works alongside the Treasurer and is often focused on specific financial oversight, especially in larger P&C’s like the one at Manly West.
NOTE: A background in accounting or finance appreciated, but not mandatory.
Time required:
- 1 -2 hours per week
- Additional hours when preparing for audit, budget or P&C meetings
- Plus attendance at all P&C Meetings (Finance, Executive, AGM + General Meetings)
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning: Works with the Treasurer and the committee to create financial strategies for the P&C, including setting long-term financial goals.
- Fundraising Oversight: Helps manage and oversee fundraising activities and ensures funds are used appropriately.
- Providing Financial Advice: Offers advice on financial matters, including budgeting, expenditure, and investments.
- Compliance: Ensures that the P&C follows relevant financial laws, regulations, and guidelines, including organising audits.
- Reporting: Assists with the preparation of financial reports and may present them to the general meetings.
Vice President
Role description:
The Vice President supports the President and stands in when the President is unavailable. The Vice Presidents are the ‘second in command’.
Time required:
- Approx. 2 hours per week
- This may vary during term depending on activities
- Plus attendance at all P&C Meetings (AGM + GM + exec meetings)
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the President: Assists the President with their duties and helps guide the association in the right direction. Back up signatory on all P&C bank accounts.
- Standing in for the President: Takes on the role of President in their absence, ensuring continuity in leadership.
- Overseeing Subcommittees: The Vice President may oversee specific subcommittees or projects within the P&C, ensuring these activities align with the group’s goals. Often assigned oversight of key operations or projects.
- Providing Guidance and Advice: Offers advice and input on decision- making processes and organisational direction. Supports the President, Secretary and Treasurer in their roles.
- Collaboration: Works closely with the other executive members to ensure that the P&C is operating smoothly.

Project Implementation Officer
Casual, fixed-term (~6 months – may be extended)
Role description:
We’re seeking an experienced Project Implementation Officer to deliver two key improvement projects for our Before & After School Care (BASC) service:
• Digitising our risk management policies and procedures.
• Transitioning to the OWNA childcare management platform ahead of a 2026 go-live.
